Waffles the Torchbearer

Do you ever hear words so many times and take the meaning of it for granted, or perhaps not think about the meaning at all? I know I do.

Glory is one of those words that takes a while to sink in, at least for me. Gotquestions.org define’s the glory of God as the following… “The glory of God is the beauty of His spirit. It is not an aesthetic beauty or a material beauty, but the beauty that emanates from His character, from all that He is.”

With this definition, the Aurora this past week that was made visible to those that are rarely privileged to see it (like those like me, living in the southern US) would be a prime example. Also the beauty that is found in God’s creation, in landscapes, people, animals, also exhibits God’s glory.

What about giving glory to God? Any thing that I am given that is good, is gifted to me by God. Things can be a personality trait, healthy relationships, situations, health, pets, food, shelter, you name it. I sometimes fall short in giving God the glory with the gifts He has given me. Sometimes it’s easier to take those things for granted and focus on what’s happening in our lives that we’d rather not have occur….

I could write on this for a while, but I’m interested in knowing your thoughts… Let me know in the comments!

As a NC resident, and Mountain Waffles cannot end a post without including a link to help those affected by Helene either through giving directly through my Samaritan’s Purse fundraising page or by purchasing a shirt from the Mountain Waffles collection from my Etsy shop in which all proceeds go to those affected by Helene. Help me raise $1,000 by the end of September 2025.

Thank you and take care!
